Jan.14.06

Hello,
Not to much happening here today. I am studying for tomorrow when my wife and I are going to be heading out of town to minister in that small town I mentioned before.

Yesterday I did one of the exams for the other ambulance service that I mentioned a couple days ago. I was pretty nervous and don't think that I did that well as I made some fairly elementary mistakes. So I should hear either way today, not expecting any good news but would be happy ifI was suprised.

Yesterday afternoon I was working on a project of customizing a Christian discipleship program. I am trying to shake things up and do things differently. Yesterday I made a lesson up where you have to fill in a crossword puzzle with all the clues that are provided. I found a very cool program on the web where you can build your own crossword puzzles (http://www.eclipsecrossword.com) and these can be printed out or can be posted to the web. Not exactly sure how it posts to the web. I am guessing that it must save it in a HTML format which you can manually FTP to your website. Once this Bible course is finished I will post it on the web and make it available to anyone who would like to use it for free.

Yesterday evening we had some of my younger brother-in-laws and a friend over to play some game and have some snacks. We had a good time. A couple weeks ago I had signed up to Http://www.redhotpawn.com and was planning to play some chess with a friend who is a missionary in the former Soviet Union. I told my other friend G.. about it and encouraged him to sign up too because I knew that he likes chess. The next day I was challenged to a game but I didn't put two and two together that it was G.. I was confused by the alias he used. Anyway I started a game with him and when G.. came over yesterday I started telling him about the game that I had started with this other guy on the net. Thats when he told me that was him. He thought I knew all along.

Last night after our company left my wife and I did some reading. I was reading "Lectures to my students" by Charles Spurgeon (ISBN 0-310-32911-6). This is an excellent read for guys entering into the ministry as that is what it is geared towards. It gives much in the way of practical advise about the ministry and helps the reader really determine whether he is called to be a minister or if he is mistakenly heading into the ministry out of wrong motives or ideals.

I am writing a study guide to go along with this book that I am going to give to the guys in our church youth group. We have a missionary trip planned for certain of our youth and these guys will have to read this book and do the review on it as part of their preparation for the trip.

Well, I am going to head off and get some studying done.
