First post

Hello,

I have had an interest in blogging for awhile but have never been sure if I could keep up on the daily blogs so we will see how this goes.

I don't know about you but my life is pretty hectic but its nice to have a forum in which to look back and try see what one has accomplished and where one is going. It seems that written text can sometimes help one accomplish that.

I will include a more detailed description about myself and what I do under my profile but in short I am a paramedic in Alberta, Canada. This is what I do to pay the bills but my heart is really into becoming a minister in the Baptist Church. I am currently quite involved in my Indepdent Baptist Church and am also involved in locum preaching. This is a term that I just made up so my definition of this is when a person preaches, as a fill in minister, at a church that either does not have a pastor of one that is unable to preach the service for a variety of reasons (eg. vacation, sick or other).

Gem of the day: Psalm 5:8 "Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make my way straight before my face." This is an awesome verse that I read in my devotions today. I am focusing on the latter half of the verse. There are so many things in my life I am looking to God for leading with. If you are not a born again believer this probably won't make sense to you. A Christian always endeavors to let the Lord lead him or her in the small and definitely in the large decisions that one makes in life. When I make a decision that later appears to have been made without God's nod of approval it usually become apparent that it was the wrong decision. On the other hand when I make a decision in the direction that I think God would have me go I have peace in my soul. I also have the confidence that God is at my side and that he is guiding me. It is very reassuring.

Well, I think that is enough for my first post. Keep your stick on the ice.
